Tourism NT commissioned a drive market study in 2023, to understand the context of drive tourism, the attitudes and behaviours towards drive tourism, the market segments, and their potential to take a self-drive or a fly-drive trip to the NT. The results were released end of 2023 with a total of 338 completed surveys completed. The following were some of the findings: More to be available through the presentation. 
•Most popular NT drive routes were Explorers Way, Kakadu Loop and Red Centre Way.
•Other well used routes were Outback Way, Savannah Way and Greater Litchfield Loop.
•Less well used routes were Arnhem Way and Binns Track.
•Most of the drive market use 4WD (53%) followed by 2WDs (24%) and then campervans, RVs or motorhomes (18%).
•Motorcycle, electric vehicle and others account for the rest (6%).
•33% of the drive travellers towed something.
•The largest group in the NT drive market were aged 18–34 years (39%), followed by the 55+ (32%) and then those aged 35–54 years (29%).
•The great majority of drive travellers use their own vehicle (67%), with one third of the market being fly-drive.
